Help – Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have any questions? Here are the answers
What is a sworn translation?
It is an official translation done by translators accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
All of our translators are accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
The translation is delivered in hard copy or digital format with the corresponding signatures and stamps.
No other additional stamps or authorisations are required. It can be delivered in either format (along with the original document) to wherever it is required.
How do I obtain a sworn translation?
Just send us a copy of your document by email or WhatsApp, or if it’s more convenient for you, you can bring it to us in person.
We will send you a quote within an hour and, once accepted, the sworn translation will be delivered to your home/office within the agreed time frame by post/courier, or you can come and collect it in person.
How is a sworn translation done step by step?
1.- A COPY IS SENT BY EMAIL/WHATSAPP/IN PERSON
Send us a copy of the document (including stamps, apostilles, etc.).
2.- THE QUOTE IS ISSUED
We assess your document and send you a quote indicating the price and delivery time.
3.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE QUOTE
You give us your approval and provide your details: address, full name, telephone number (confidentiality is guaranteed by law – we comply with personal data protection regulations).
At this point, you also choose your payment method: You can pay by bank transfer, Bizum or cash.
4.- RECEIPT OF THE TRANSLATION
The sworn translation is sent to your address or you can collect it in person within the agreed time frame.
How can I be sure that it is a sworn translation?
All of our translations are done by translators accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
How long does it take to deliver the sworn translation?
If you need the translation by a specific date, let us know and we will confirm whether delivery is possible by that date. In Vitoria-Gasteiz, we can even deliver on the same day.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer, Bizum or cash on collection.
How long does it take to translate a document? When will I receive it?
Under normal working conditions standard documents (such as degrees, diplomas, certificates, etc.) are usually completed within 24 hours. Please allow an additional day for delivery to the client’s address.
We also do urgent work. Call us and tell us your requirements.
How can you guarantee that the translation will arrive on time?
If we set a date, we will do everything we can to meet that date. Delivery will always be by courier, so you must be contactable to receive it.
Do I have to send you the original documents?
No, that is not necessary. Send us a copy by email or WhatsApp and you can keep the original. This is legal, standard practice. Sworn translations are delivered to you in person in an envelope; a hard copy paper translation bearing the signatures and sworn translation stamps.
I have not yet received the translation. What do I do?
Contact us and we will resolve the issue. It is essential for us that the translation arrives by the agreed deadline.
We will do everything we can to resolve any issues that may arise during delivery.
Does a sworn translation have to be on officially stamped paper?
There is no obligation in this regard. Whether the translation is on stamped or normal paper does not affect your paperwork in any way.
What does an official sworn translation look like?
It is a physical (paper) or digital document. The sheets used may or may not be stamped. In addition to the translation of the corresponding document, the sworn translation will bear the translator’s signature and personal stamp and certification.
What if, when I submit my documents and their sworn translation, I am told that they are not valid?
Nothing is missing from the sworn translation. If this does occur, find out what is missing from your original documents.
If the sworn translation is signed in Spain and is going to a different country, find out if it needs to be recognised by the Foreign Office and the Consulate of that country in the Spain. This is normally only required for documentation relating to the incorporation of companies outside Spain; in all other cases, a sworn translation is usually accepted as is.
